If you’ll be near Fredericksburg, Texas this upcoming Memorial Day weekend consider these opportunities.
The National Museum of the Pacific War invites you to join them on Memorial Day, May 28th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Courtyard for their annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Captain William J. Toti, USN (Retired) is the keynote speaker. Among his other credits, he served three tours of duty aboard the submarine USS Indianapolis, including time as its commanding officer. Toti has been associated with the survivors of the WW II cruiser of the same name for nearly three decades. In September 2017 Toti took part in a live PBS presentation of the discovery of the site of the WW II Indianapolis wreckage in the Philippine Sea.

If you’re into crawfish the 2018 Crawfish Festival sponsored by the Fredericksburg Jaycees will be at Marktplatz. This annual festival features live music, along with arts and crafts vendors, great food, a carnival for the kids and of course, crawfish.
Entertainers scheduled to perform: Bayou Roux, Zydeco High Steppers, Kyle Park on Friday night and Kevin Fowler on Saturday night. Also back by popular demand: Gator Country.

The town of Fredericksburg has more to offer than just Memorial Day activities. It was founded in the 1800s by German immigrants. Take a tour and enjoy the picturesque architecture. Downtown shopping is available in their historic buildings.
