Something far more important than travel information occurs throughout the United States today. Today we have the opportunity—more than that—we have the duty to exercise our right to vote.
“Taxation without representation,” one of the injustices that led to our Revolutionary War. Those soldiers fought and died to bring about our country’s independence. Their sacrifices obtained our right to elect our own representatives.
This coming Sunday, November 11th is Veterans Day. Honor the service of all veterans by voting at your local polling place before the polls close at 7:00 p.m. your local time.
If we don’t exercise our right to vote, we may lose it. Someone else may decide for us. Wouldn’t that be tragic?
Travel to your local poll and exercise your right to vote today.
This site will return to Durango and Silverton, Colorado next week to provide you with more travel information about the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway.
Until then . . . Travel Light,

I voted. Didn’t even have to stand in line.
It seems to depend on the polling location and population of that area. I didn’t have to stand in line either since I voted two weeks ago to avoid the potential for a long wait in our area.
