“Dogust” Part 1

You’ve heard of the “Dog Days of August,” right? The warm sultry days of August have led some to change the month’s name to “Dogust.” To make these days more enjoyable I’ve listed below some of my favorite National Holidays. I hope you find some to enjoy or at least amuse you.

National Holidays for August 1 – 15, 2021

August 1  – Shelter Dogs’ Birthday
This is perfect since we do not know their actual birthdays.

August 2  – Ice Cream Sandwich Day & Coloring Book Day
                     Northern Territory Picnic Day in Canada
August 3  – Watermelon Day

August 4  – Chocolate Chip Cookie
                     Regatta Day in Canada

August 6  – Root Beer Float Day

August 7  – Lighthouse Day
                     Mustard Day
Have some mustard on your favorite sandwich at the lighthouse.

August 8  – Sneak Zucchini onto your neighbor’s porch day
Either that’s funny or just plain mean. What do you think?

August 9  – Book Lovers Day

August 10 – Lazy Day
                     S’mores Day
                    Spoil Your Dog Day

August 11 – Mountain Day
                     Son and Daughter Day

August 12 – Middle Child Day
                     Vinyl Record Day
“Just take those old records off the …”

August 13 – Blame Someone Else Day
Never mind. Too many people already do this everyday.
We need a “Take Responsibility for Your Own Choices Day”

August 14 – Bowling Day

August 15 – Back to School Prep Day

August 16 – Tell a Joke Day
                      Roller Coaster Day

August 17 – Thrift Shop Day
                      Black Cat Appreciation Day
