Life has both beauty and truth. Sometimes, truth is not pretty. Sometimes, it is ugly.
My previous blog post about Shen Yen focused on the beauty. But Shen Sun also showed the ugly truth about Chinese Communism.
Nearly every culture on earth has some form of belief about salvation and about heaven. Yet again, I was struck by that in the opening narration of the program. China was once known as “The Land of the Divine.” Chinese people revered the Divine.
In 1949 when the Chinese Communist Party came to power, it saw traditional Chinese culture as a threat.
Shen Yun was formed by a group of Chinese artists to revive their authentic Chinese culture. Their mission explains everything they do—the dances, the choreography, the stories, and even the costumes.
One part of the production portrays actual events in present day China. Communist Party security agents imprison practitioners of a Chinese meditation known as Falun Dafa or Falun Gong. After their arrest, a daughter is taken to be killed for her organs. We see a guard being paid. A bloody sheet covers the girl’s body.
(As part of Communism’s vicious tactics to make all comply, some entire ethnic groups are also targeted for slavery and for organ harvesting in present day China. The Uyghurs, pronounced Wee-gers, are one such group. Unfortunately, even Google tries to suppress information regarding them. It is heartbreaking. A photo on this Radio Free Asia link shows Uyghurs and Falun Dafa practitioners at a re-education camp: https://www.rfa.org/english/news/uyghur/organs-03122020163712.html )
One line from Shen Yun states: “Atheism and evolution are doctrines that deceive.”
Communism seeks to deceive. If it fails at that, then it seeks to destroy the truth.
I look forward to the day when all Truth is revealed. Our nation’s first president, George Washington is quoted: “Truth will ultimately prevail where pain(s) . . . is taken to bring it to light.”
Shen Yun is taking pains to bring truth to light. A poem during one section of the program ends with the line, “And free our people of all plight.”
Indeed. May ALL truth be brought to light. And free ALL people everywhere from their plight.
Shen Yun seeks to expose truth through their programs. How do you seek truth? Tell me about it in the comments below.
Until next time . . . Travel Light,
SuZan
